Institute of Air Quality Management and with the British Lung Foundation are going to present First "National Air Quality Awards", awards will be presented on the evening of 22 October 2015 at the Grand Hotel, Bristol. As per Steve Eminton, The Editor of AirQualityNews event will be helpful in recognizing the achievements and hard work done in areas of Air Quality.

For us environmentalists it will be a good event to observe and come across a good literature on work done by various organizations and individuals.

There are Six broader categories:

1. Local Authority Air Quality Initiative of the Year
2. Best Air Quality Communications Campaign 2015
3. The Innovation in Air Quality Technology Award
4. Car Manufacturer Air Quality Progress Award 2015

Top 20 polluted cities of world in 2015 reported by WEF

As recently published in World Economic Forum, 13 polluted cities among top 20 are coming from
India.
It is alarming as these also represent most populous cities in India hence affecting a substantial no of people, among the most affected are young one,  which endanger the future of nation which is fast rising economic power riding on its young potential population.
As 19 out of 20 cities are South Asian it alarms a in a big way because all these three countries (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh) are not only most populous but also fast rising economies and heavily inclined to become manufacturing powerhouse in region. Environmental awareness remains very low at public and private level in these countries, hence a lot of efforts are required in educating people of region.
